MY THOUGHTS

Nelican's Lemons is a cute story about Nelican, a pelican who had a surprise delivery and what he decided to do with it.

What I liked about the book:

- Vibrant and cheerful illustrations that made me happy because of the colors used
- How the illustrations told the story. If there were no words, you would still have gotten the story and the lesson learned.
- Nelican's generosity and stick-to-it outlook
- The recipe at the end of the book

What I didn't like:

- The rhyming was awkward in a few spots and broke the flow of the read for me. The great thing is that the kids at this age are mostly about the illustrations, so the awesome illustrations are a big win for me in this book.

Key Takeaways:

- If we are in an unexpected or unknown situation, don't give up, think about how we can make it work and try it.
- Be generous, sharing not only makes us happy, but it also makes the ones with whom we share happy as well.

I received a free copy of the book from Book Sirens and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
