Are You There Yet?

Are you there yet? No? How about a little assistance. Confused? Sorry, started writing mid-thought.

I just wanted to know if you're where you thought you'd be in life at 30, 40, 50? As a rabid fan of the "knowledge is power" school of thought. I'm happy about any avenue that promotes or makes it easier for adults to become more marketable.

That's why I'd like to take a moment to suggest online learning as an alternative to the traditional schooling method. Let's be frank. Undergraduate degrees don't hold the weight they used to anymore and if you want to get anywhere in the business world getting that mba degree is not just a desire anymore ... but a necessity.

Take a school like Capella University based in Chicago, IL which services 16,000 students in all 50 states plus 63 other countries from the comfort of their own homes or anywhere they have access to the internet.

Since its inception in 1993 Capella University has managed to become known as a national leader in online education.

The next time you lament about how or why you're not there yet ... consider online learning as an avenue to take you there.

There's only one problem with this ... some people learn better the old-fashoned way. I have done enough online classes (and in-class classes) to know that I do *far* better in the classroom. There's something about having face-to-face contact with a teacher and other students that is critical for me.

That said, I think the proliferation of online education is fantastic. Anything that makes school more accessable is a good thing indeed!
